Zigzagging down California brought us to this beautiful coast. There is nothing like it elsewhere. We stayed overnight in the redwoods in Big Sur State Park and the next day we enjoyed the coast and the wonderful Monterey Aquarium. Just seeing the sunset on Seventeen Mile Drive and Point Lobos was worth the trip. But the beauty of this place is not only skin deep. The aquarium shows what one misses by not scuba diving around here. the coast is filled with very tall kelp forest, the habitat of sea lions, sea otters, white shark and is frequently visited by humpback whales. What an awesome place!
